12 – Little Beach

When HMAS Assault was operational this beach was known as Engineers Beach.

A long ‘L’ shaped military wharf was built near the centre of the beach.

From the 1920’s miners from the coalfield areas, built huts along the waterfront on plots leased from the NSW Lands Department, for use during holiday periods.

The huts were removed in the 1950’s.
