The Pindimar Oyster Company owned by Frederick "Fred" Phillips, was established in 1913 and by 1916 their first oysters were ready to market. They were loaded in bags from Pindimar Wharf on board either the "Coweambah"or the "Boambee"and transported to Newcastle, then transferred to the Hunter River Steamship Company boats and forwarded to either the Sydney or Melbourne markets.
