About this object"Swan Bay" owned by Fred and Stan Phillips - a paddle wheel steamer. Seen here on the slip at Windy Woppa sawmill which was owned by Allen Taylor c.1950. "Swan Bay" was skippered by Eric Engel with Harry Phillips as the engineer.
This paddlewheel drogher, originally from Ballina, was purchased by Stan Phillips to transport logs from Meyers Point and Bulahdelah back to the mill at Oyster Cove. The winching gear was transferred from ex-wartime ships moored at Stockton prior to scrapping.
