About this object‘‘Kingsley" built by Clyde Mitchell in 1962 had an interesting beginning.
Her keel was originally broad axed from a 10 inch X 10 inch blackbutt tree from behind the Bowling Club in Nelson Bay. Left in the scrub where a bushfire charred the keel another had to be sought. A 10 inch X 10 inch turpentine was purchased from Newman Bros. in Buladelah.
