About this object"St Patrick" - the last boat commissioned by Ron McLean from Bill Ryan.
"St Patrick" was sailed north to Queensland for prawning in the warmer waters, first to Mooloolaba and then further north to Gladstone.
While carrying out repairs in Townsville, Ron sustained a serious electrical shock which damaged his spine and forced him to wear a steel brace for the remainder of his life. Finding it too difficult to work with his injuries he was finally forced to quit the sea that he loved.
